BOARD OF DIRECTORS
It is both an honor and responsibility to be asked and elected to serve on the Southern States Llama Association Board of Directors. Directors must be members in good standing of the SSLA. Directors are required to attend the regular meeting held during the Annual SSLA Conference, this includes attendance at the conference. Attendance is required at other Board meetings as called by the President or by one-third of the Board members. Directors must respond immediately or as soon as possible to all requests, oral or written, concerning Board decisions and activities.
The Board is responsible for managing the SSLA finances and disbursing them in the best interest of the SSLA.
Members should offer suggestions to the President on Committee Chair positions and serve as liaison to committees as directed by the President.
Reasonable expenses for telephone and postage in the furtherance of Board duties will be reimbursed to Board members. Accepting the position as a member of the SSLA Board is not intended to be a financial hardship nor is financial consideration intended to be a barrier to a Board position.
As a BOD member you may be required to make decisions for the benefit of the entire SSLA which may not be in line with your personal feelings. Your decision should reflect what is best for the majority of the membership.
